Finish!!

I just put the finishing stitches into Snow Belles!

I really enjoyed stitching this piece. The fabric and thread colors are fantastic!

My mother had her open heart surgery yesterday. She had two valves in her heart replaced and spent yesterday and part of today recovering in intensive care. Today, she was moved to a regular room after sitting in a chair and even walking a bit! The doctor is very happy with her progress and our family is so relieved that she made it safely through her surgery. She has a long recovery ahead but she is already making great strides. I really appreciate your well wishes and prayers during this difficult time!

Christmas Time!

Today is my first day of freedom. I got back to work after the new year. It's been nice so far today. This morning I had doctors appt but someone decided to have a baby so my doctor was out when I got there and I had to reschedule my appointment.

I was home for just alittle while when our new couch came!! I'm so happy with our choice. It's so comfortable and cozy.

Making Time

Not much going on here. Yesterday, I met up with my friend, Danielle, to exchange Christmas gifts. I had fun gathering gifts for her and I also made her a pretty scarf I wanted to keep for myself. Danielle got me super cute pj pants with cupcakes all over them, a gift card to Starbucks and a cute little felt cupcake that plays music! I put the little cupcake in our Christmas tree and lounged in my new pants as soon as I got home!

33 weeks pregnant now and my husband shared his winter cold with me. It hasn't gotten too bad so I'm hoping to head it off before it gets worse. I'm miserable enough already because of my back without adding a cold to the mix. Plus, it's really important that I kick this before Christmas. My mother is having open heart surgery the day after Christmas and I won't be able to see/visit with her at the hospital if I'm still sick. I already took off work next week in anticipation of her surgery and I will be upset if I don't get to be with her during that time, but if I'm still sick I can at least rest at home through the new year.

I put a few stitches into the last block on Snow Belles last night. Enough to get the border finished so this week I fill it in. I'm totally hooked on the new mystery sampler coming out next month. It's designed by Belinda of Blue Ribbon Designs and so far I love everything about it!!

It's Coming!

Christmas incoming and DH and I finally have the tree up and decorated. The house is starting to get a bit decluttered while we get rid of old to make room for the new. I finally feel like I'm making progress on baby girls room as it is starting to empty out before I fill it up again.

Not much going on on the stitching front. I lost my mojo but I certainly hope to finish Snow Belles before spring! Lol. Last weekend, I made a trip to my LNS and stumbled on a shepherds bush kit that I've been wanting for the last year or so, Road to Bethlehem. My LNS has the model on the wall but never seemed to have the kit in stock. When I ran across it last weekend, I snatched it up!

This weekend is DH birthday and we have our birthing class. Hope everyone is well!!

Nothing Doing

Well, I've gotten sidelined from finishing Snow Belles with my first pregnancy complication. After two and a half days of persistent back pain, I called my ob office yesterday. As it could have been any number of difficulties, my ob instructed me to go to the family birth place at the hospital. My mother picked me up from work and off we went. I knew there was nothing wrong with the baby as I've felt her move more than ever the last few days. But there was something wrong with me and I was all kinds of freaked out. After arriving at the hospital, I was the only patient at the birth place so I enjoyed the peace and quiet. The ob at the hospital diagnosed me with a bulging disc in my back. It is very painful and there is not much help for it besides wearing a support garment for the duration of my pregnancy to help stabilize my back and uterus. I was given an abdominal binder at the hospital, but since it is not designed specifically for maternity use, the ob advised me to get a maternity belt which I ordered last night.

I almost wish I had a kidney infection then I could take antibiotics and be done. With this bulging disc, the support belt really isn't so bad. I find it very comfy actually. I feel like all my insides are compressed in a good way and being held together around the baby. Like a big hug around my waist, lol. But, even with the support belt there is still some pain. Nothing as terrible as I was experiencing, but uncomfortable nonetheless. Last night I was feeling much better and had my first good nights sleep in almost a week.

I am at work today, but have off tomorrow and look forward to getting some rest after my visit with the dentist.

Snowy

Finished another block on Snow Belles! Only one more to go and I will have a finish!!

The End is Near.

Hope everyone here in the us had a great thanksgiving holiday! I was off work for five days including the weekend, but it sure didn't feel like it since I was busy everyday.

Wednesday I spent cooking, Thursday was feast day and Friday I got to go to the dr. All is well and afterwards since I was out thought I might browse some of the stores having sales. I didn't think Black Friday was very exciting this year. Target was a bust. There were some essentials that I needed but figured they weren't worth the lines to buy some toothpaste and stretch mark cream! It's right near kohls and I thought they might be having above sale in maternity clothes and I was right! Plus, that section wasn't crowded at all! Lol. I picked up three tops and then while standing in the VERY long line found a gift for my sister in law and a toy for baby girl. It's a super cute musical/light up sea horse that is usually $25 and I've been wanting to get it for awhile. Well, it was on sale for $11! I had to snatch it!

I got home the same time as hubby that day and we went out Friday night for dinner and some shopping. Saturday, we went out for breakfast and then went shopping for new living room furniture. We currently just have a couch big enough for the two of us and knew we have to have something before baby comes so people have a place to sit when they come to visit. Not to mention the old couch is just due for the dump. It's broken and the vinyl is starting to crack and is very uncomfortable. Hubby and I were able to find a really nice couch for a great price.

So I didn't get ANY stitching time until Sunday! I was able to make more progress on Snow Belles and am almost to the finish line! I will be so excited to finish this and have promised myself to go right to the LNS to get it framed when its done!

Time for Thanks!

This week is the Thanksgiving holiday and today was my last day of work until next Monday.

I lost alittle steam on snow belles due to all the white. Ugh, white gets sooo old! But, I persevered and finished up ice queen tonight! Yay! Two more blocks to go.

Tomorrow begins the preparation for the big meal and then enjoying the rest of my week off. I'm not much interested in Black Friday. It's definitely lost its appeal for me in the last few years. People are just too crazy.

Wednesday is another sonogram to check on baby and Friday is my checkup at the doctor. Eleven more weeks!

Getting Icy!

More stitching this week! Hopefully this queen gets her crown soon!

Weekend!

I spent the weekend making more progress on Snow Belles. Saturday, I met up with Danielle and many other wonderful Stitcher's at a retreat in Laurel, md. I wasn't able to go for the whole weekend, but yesterday I went with Danielle to see the needleart exhibit at Montpelier Estate and then back to the Stitcher's lounge for some stitching time.

Tomorrow is a work holiday for me in observance of Veterans Day. I'm hoping to get more of the mess cleared out of the baby's room and more stitching time! I can't believe Thanksgiving is practically here already!

Making Progress

More stitching on Snow Belles! I just have to do the lacy bottom border and it will be onto the next.

It's another long weekend for me! Monday is a holiday in my office in observance of Veterans Day. Yay!!

Snow Belles

Making progress on Lizzie Kate's Snow Belles. I really like all the colors in the piece!

Riding Out The Storm

Well it seems as if the worst is over with Hurricane Sandy. My office was closed both Monday and Tuesday so I was able to enjoy some time at home. Hubby stayed home with me Tuesday and we cuddled up on the couch with blu ray movies and Netflix. We managed to not lose power during the storm, but we rarely ever do so I wasn't worried.

Saturday, before it got rainy the postman brought me my latest order from 123stitch.com. I ordered Mirabilias new pattern Sleeping Princess with beads. I'm excited to stitch this design and have it framed for baby girls room!

I finished stitching all four sides for my BRD ort box and decided to start something new. I started stitching Lizzie Kate's Snow Belles on 32 ct jobelan (I think). I really like the color. It's a hand dyed piece called clay. I forget which company it's made by. I purchased all the threads, patterns, and fabric at jamboree a few weeks ago.

Hope everyone in the area has remained safe from the storm!

Just One More!

I've been working this work on stitching the sides for my ort box. I love the designs by Blue Ribbon Designs. The "Baltimore" block is one of my favorites! Just one more side to stitch and then I can start putting it together!

Baby shower and stitching

This past weekend was our baby shower. My mom hosted at her house but i did the majority of planning as I'm kind of a control freak like that. Hubby and I were very excited to get together with friends and family to celebrate our little one. We planned a gender reveal and gave our mothers picture frames with sonogram pictures. Both were excited to find out its a girl! Our theme was mustache or pearls and had a great time incorporating it into the party. When guests arrived, if they thought it was a boy they got to wear a mustache and if they thought it was a girl, they got "pearls" (silver party beads).

I got alittle creative and made a cupcake stand with some super cute scrapbook paper I found at michaels and also a diaper wreath. I just used cardboard cake circles and plastic cups for the stand. Super easy and i didn't feel bad about throwing it away after the party. For the wreath, I used diapers I already had and attached it to a wire wreath frame with floral wire and ribbon.

It was a really great shower and I'm so thankful for all the generosity from our friends and family that were able to attend.

On the stitching front, I finished my scissor from from jamboree and started stitching the sides for my ort box. I'm counting down the days until my next day off work so I can enjoy a day at home stitching!

More Jamboree

Last post I blogged about the two classes I took on Saturday. Sunday, was my last class of the weekend. It was with Donna from By the Bay. It was also my first time working with stump work. It was a bit of trial in the beginning, but I enjoyed it. First pic is Donnas model, second pic is mine in class.

After its all finished it makes a very cute little bag.

Of course, I can't leave a retreat without getting some stash! I've been on quite the stash diet lately as I've been preparing for little one and there just hasn't been anything that I've seen lately that I just had to have. Plus, I've been trying to work in wips. There are just too many.

For this trip, though, I just decided to get it if I wanted it!

I got all six of the Lizzie Kate snow belles charts plus thread and fabric to go with it, only later realizing I only bought one skein of whitewash and I need FIVE. I found this cute project bag with the sweetest sampler fabric sewn in. Love it! I also picked up Shepherds Bush green snowman (oops, no picture). And wow, they had so many SB charts/kits I've never even seen before! The five skeins of linen weeks thread I need to stitch barnwood buttons. Not pictured is the secret yarn I bought to make the baby something special. Not quite time for that reveal yet! Meanwhile, I'm searching for just the right pattern to use for my baby yarn goodness.

I'm off work tomorrow for a dr appointment an to get some finishing items for our baby shower on Saturday! Hope you all have agreat weekend!

Ocean City Stitcher's Jamboree

Hi all! Well, I've been back from my stitching weekend for a few days. I left Friday afternoon and arrived at the hotel around 3pm. After settling in my room, I went down to the Salty Yarns shop and ran into my friend, Denise. We did some browsing and shopping then settled down in the lobby to do some stitching before dinner. After dinner, a friend of Denise's joined us for more stitchy time. After a long day, and with the belly, I was definitely ready to call it an early night.

Our first full day included two classes. My first class was with Belinda from Blue Ribbon Designs. I really love taking classes with Belinda! She is super organized and provides a wonderful binder with all the charts and instructions for the projects she designed. For our class she designed a framed sampler with matching scissor fob and ort box. The classes were only three hours so there wasn't much time to get a lot of stitching done in class, most was learning finishing techniques and I also got the cord made for the finishing on my scissor fob.

After lunch and a nap, I had class with Theresa from Shakespeare's Peddler. I really enjoyed the creativity that she encouraged in class. Theresa designed a pincushion for class and gave us all the materials to get started in class. It is definitely a project that anyone can do anywhere! With just a few basic materials and some of your favorite cross stitched motifs, this can easily be done at home. After getting some basic starting instructions from Theresa we were able to spend the rest of class making the project our own.

This is the model that Theresa brought to class. Then my pincushion in class followed by a picture of some things I added when I got home. Some of the ladies in my class had some trouble with the project as there was not much direction for the piece. It was more about "thinking outside the box" and really making it your own. I really loved it though, it was alot of fun and a really good use of the short time that we had to work on it in class. After the class, I even went down into the shop and pick additional charms to add to my own pincushion; a seahorse and a scissors charm.

I didn't get a picture of Belinda's projects in class so I borrowed this pic from BRD's Facebook page. So far I have one side of the scissor fob stitched and am almost done the side with the house. Belinda designed this piece exclusively for the retreat so it will not be available for sale until about another year or so.

After classes were finished for the day, we walked the boardwalk and enjoyed pizza for dinner. The we went back to the hotel for more stitching. After awhile, I went back to my room for some quiet time, SNL on tv and more stitching.

More to come about the rest of my weekend!

Long Weekend

Just back to work after a long weekend. Yesterday, it was Columbus Day here in the u.s. I'm still having a hard time understanding how I get off for this day and not Easter....or other more important days of remembrance.

This past weekend was nice. Saturday, I went to a baby shower at a tea house for one of my friends. It was nice to have some girl time and to see my friend who was visiting from Ohio. I made her a cute diaper cake topped with a little elephant toy.

Sunday was football day. My husband had a friend over and we flipped through the games rooting for our teams.

Yesterday, I enjoyed my day off by sleeping a little bit late, then lounged on the couch with some stitching and a Netflix marathon.

I have three days of work this week followed by another long weekend as I am leaving Friday to go to the Stitcher's Jamboree at Salty Yarns in Ocean City. I'm really excited to get some quality stitching time to work on a few projects and learn from three great designers!!

Catching Up!

Posting from my new shiny iPhone 5! It's been alittle bit of an adjustment from my android phone, but all good!

Matt and I were away last week on vacation with his family in NagsHead, Nc. My mil and her bf are lots of fun, but I would not recommend going on vacation with your spouses 90 year old grandmother. What a nightmare! Highlights of the week included days of not working, time on the beach with the family dog, and seeing a baby sea turtle released into the ocean!

I am 23 weeks prego now. I have a sonogram on Monday. I have off work that day for Columbus Day so I'm really forward to having a three day weekend. Hubs and I will probably start the process of decluttering our spare room for the baby. There is so much stuff in there! I know there is a lot of stitching stuff that I just know I will never get to or was given to me that is just not my taste. More than likely, my friends here in blogland will benefit because I've been thinking it will be the perfect time for some giveaways!

Hope everyone is well and has a great weekend!!

Splurge

Yea, I did it. I caved. I went to the dark side.

I ordered the new Iphone 5.

Its so pretty!!

Plus, I was able to get it for a really good deal since I was due for an upgrade and had an additional credit on my account. I cant wait until it gets delivered!!

This weekend we've got big things going on! My 20 week sonogram is tomorrow. We will finally get a really good look at our baby and see if we are team pink or team blue!

I had a sonogram at 12 weeks but the machine was old so the picture wasn't great (plus it was down at my feet so I couldn't see much anyway) and the printer was broken so we couldn't get a picture to take with us to shoe off. Hubby took a couple pics on his phone, but that's all we've got so far. Hopefully, tomorrow we get some souvenirs!!

After our appointment, we are taking hubbys grandmother to a book signing. Her 90th birthday was last week and she loves Nora Roberts. Luckily, she lives in our area and owns an inn and a bookstore that she holds signings at on a regular basis so I'm hoping we can get her up close and personal for a signed book and maybe even a picture!

Its also hermitting weekend! Fingers crossed, I MIGHT get my sampler done this weekend!!

Gettin' There!

I've been spending the last couple weeks working on getting the verse done on 'sweeter love'. I was the genius who decided to stitch my sampler on 40 ct. and later realizing the verse is stitched over one.

So, stitching over one on 40 ct can be quite challenging. I was just happy when I got one letter done a night when I worked on this!

But, the verse is FINALLY done and I'm SO close to a finish!

Where You Been?!

Yes, it has been quite awhile since I've posted!! Almost three months!! I have no pictures to share, so I will try to make this as short and sweet as possible....

During my last post in May, I was anticipating our first wedding anniversary and our weekend trip to Virginia Beach. We had a great weekend down there! It was too cold for beach time but we enjoyed visiting the Aquarium. I really liked that place. The exhibits were wonderful and plenty. Well worth the money spent on admission, plus we went right when they opened so it wasn't crowded and we got to see how they clean the coral in the big tank and feed the fish. My favorite exhibits were the outdoor sea lion exhibit (which was really nice to hang out around since we got there a few minutes before the doors opened) and the sea turtles. The turtles were so beautiful and the tank is VERY large, I was able to get some amazing pictures.

I also made sure to fish out the LNS in Virginia Beach, Dyeing to Stitch. It was a nice shop in a row of other crafty shops that included a bead shop, knitting shop and a quilt store. When we arrived there was a bit of hub bub going on as a jewelry store in the shopping center had just been robbed so there were some police cars and detectives walking around to all the other shops asking if anyone had seen anything. I did like the shop, though I did feel the selection was a bit limited, but I would go again.

In other news.....the week after Memorial Day, we found out I'm PREGNANT!! Yes, it was a bit of schock for both of us as we had just decided only the month before "not to try, but not not try". We weren't going to become all stressful and baby crazy, but to feel blessed with whatever God gave us. I am due February 2013, so as of right now only 17 weeks along, but I am starting to sport a bit of a bump. It has been a very exciting summer for us getting used to the new changes occurring in our family. Hubby got a new job that has helped tremendously in the financial aspect of our life together, although I don't think he altogether "loves" it, but at the end of the day, it's just a j-o-b and in the long run will be so much better in our journey together and making a good life for our growing family.

I have felt very healthy during my pregnancy, no sickness at all, though those first couple weeks were a bit trying due to other symptoms I was experiencing. My dr's have been very pleasant and nice so far, although I am anticipating some stuggles down the road as I have some ideas and feelings about my birth plan and treatment during my third trimester that is probably not going to jive with "modern" treatment plans.

On the stitching front, I have to have seemed to have lost my mojo a bit. I did work a bit on my first Chatelaine project and kind of lost my steam. I've gone back to working more on my wedding sampler, "A Sweeter Love" by Plum Street Samplers. At this point, after being married a year, I'm just hoping to have it done before our baby is born.

This weekend is Labor Day weekend here in the US and I have a four day weekend. I plan on enjoying some much needed time at home doing some stiching and housecleaning. Hubby and I are also planning a trip to the zoo in DC on Labor Day when they open a new seal/sea lion exhibit.

Hope you all are doing well!!

More Boring

Not much going on around these parts. I have been doing some secret stitching so I can't show it to you yet.

The last couple weekends have been a bit lazy. Today, I did put a few stitches into Venetian, but not enough to warrant a picture.

Next weekend I'm meeting up with the ladies and I'm excited! And in a few weeks dh and I are heading to Virginoa Beach to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Of course, I will make sure to visit the lns there, Dyeing to Stitch.

Back to work tomorrow, is it Friday yet?!

So Ready

Been quite a few days since my last post. Two weeks ago I caught a nasty cold and have been trying to kick it ever since. Last week I stayed home two days (tuesday and wednesday) and buried myself in used tissues and cough drop wrappers.

I did alittle stitching and became obssessed with watching Dog the Bounty Hunter on Netflix. Don't judge me.

I'm feeling better this week, though fighting a stuffy nose and nasty cough. Anyone else discover the awesomeness that is kleenex brands cool touch tissues?! Omg. So amazing.

I'm almost done the bottom boringness on Venetian.

Easter is this weekend and I took off work for a couple days of r&r Monday and Tuesday. So ready!

Slow Going

This week has been goin like a snail! Its soo long. It will never end.

I've been making more progress on venetian. Trying to get the bottom finished, then I can move onto fun stuff like beading. Its so very boring.

Dh and I have been talking about a weekend getaway. Just somewhere closeby we haven't been where we can relax but also find interesting things to do. Close enough that we aren't in the car forever, but far enough to make it worth a night in a nice hotel. I think we've decided on virginia beach. Its about four hours from home so we could make it there in an afternoon, do some exploring, and head home Sunday afternoon. We love the beach, so even if it will be too cold to go in the water, we can still be near it. It has nothing to do with the fact that I want to visit the LNS there, not at all ;-)

This weekend I am hoping to get some organization in our spare room. Its quite an embarrassment. I've managed to let go of quite a few things by donating to goodwill, but there is still a bit to go.

I am a Weiner!

My dear friend Danielle over at Peace, Love, and Stitching has gifted me with the Liebster Award!! She is so wonderfully nice! I hope you go check out her post to see what other talented stitchers have been gifted with such a nice award.

Liebster is a german word meaning favourite, dearest, or beloved. The Liebster is awarded by bloggers to other new bloggers who have fewer than 200 followers, to help spread the word about their blogs and to help them gain wider recognition.

The Liebster award comes with four conditions that each recipient must satisfy when accepting.

1. Choose 5 up-and-coming blogs with less than 200 followers to award the Liebster to

2. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.

3. Post the award on your blog. List the bloggers you are giving the award to with links to their sites. Leave comments on their blog so they know about the award.

4. Share 5 random facts about yourself that people don't know about you.

My award recipients are listed below!!

1. A Southerner under the Northern Lights -- Love to see updates from this wonderful southern lady living in Alaska. A great example of the joy I get "meeting" other stitchers who are so close, yet so far!

2. Cross Stitched by Astrid -- One of the ladies I actually get to see in person to enjoy stitching, gossip and food!

3. Melissas Stitching Room -- I met Melissa recently on Facebook in a Mirabilia group. She is very nice and we have even traded a pattern from our stashes!! She has lovely work on her blog.

4. The Whispers of Autumn -- Lots of fun stitching and cute doggy and kitty pics!

5. Tickled Pink in Stitches -- Another stitching friend that I have met in person!! DJ has award winning stitching and wonderful stories to share on her blog!

Now the fun stuff with 5 random facts:

hmmmm, this is hard.....

1. I met my husband on match.com......and he is not a psychopath and I am not a crazy person, nor was I desperate. haha!

2. The best stitching time to pass for me is in front of the tv while trashy reality shows are on. Jersey Shore, Real Housewives. Whatever, sometimes I am like wow, I am more stupid than I was an hour ago, though mostly I can convince myself I am not REALLY watching it, it's just background noise. Other times, the stitching is completely forgotten and I am yelling "no, she di'nt!"

3. I am way more emotional than I used to be before I got married. It's very weird, and some days I just don't know what to do with the stuff. Repress! Repress!!

4. I stalk celebrities on twitter.

5. I have a pen hoard in my desk at work. Some of them don't even work anymore, I have a problem.

I didn't get much stitching accomplished over the weekend. I have come to a part on Venetian that is just muy boring. It is all brown and light brown and dark brown and barf. Ugh, must persevere!

Weekend Work

This weekend went by way too fast! The time change was a doozy for me today, but at least the weather was nice!

Hubby and I moved a bookshelf from upstairs into the living room downstairs. It looks perfect in the space left by the table we got rid of. Plus, it provides some storage space for movies, pictures and such.

Friday after work I was happy to have received two packages in the mail. First, was my new scentsy warmer and bars. Second, was my order from european cross stitch containing my beads for my chatelaine. Yay mail!!

Saturday night I babysat four girls, talk about exhausting. After sleeping in then enjoying a nice Sunday breakfast, hubby and I lounged around the house. I indulged in a Jersey Shore marathon and lots of stitching.

I've made a ton of progess on venetian over the last week. I'm very excited to be that much closer to finishing!

March!

Well, its almost spring. I don't know how I feel about it though. I am very tired lately, I don't know what it is. Maybe once the warmer weather arrives, I will not feel so out of sorts with myself. Maybe its the little bit of upheaval I've had lately with this darn job I've been interviewing for. Maybe its the fact that I have jury duty this week and my time is not my own. Maybe I just need to watch the movie "one day" (awful, btw) and get it all out in 90 minutes or less.

My second interview was this past Friday. I am really not sure how to feel about it. In the past, when I've thought I've done something really well, it was a real bomb. And the worst job interview that was, in my honest opinion, the worst job interview in the history of the world got me the job I have now. So, who knows. Now, I'm waiting for my rejection letter or another phone call. Yes, there is a THIRD interview.

Yesterday, I got to enjoy the company of strangers at jury duty. I didn't get picked for a trial and gladly took my $15 to chipotle for lunch. I spent the rest of the day in my pajamas and alternated between the loving arms of my couch and doing some clean up around the house. Heres hoping I don't have to go back again this week. Although, it really wasn't that bad. Its an interesting process and I did get free lunch.

We decided to get rid of a table we had by our front door. Dh was pretty set on donating it to goodwill, but being the one that would have to deal with taking it there, I didn't feel like it. So I stuck a "free" sign on it and told him to put it outside. He was convinced noone would stop.....I showed him. Within 20 minutes, a lady pulled up in a van and shoved that table in her car so fast it was like it was never there.

I've also been getting back into my stitching. Yay! I've been working on Venetian Opulence by Mirabilia.

Thanks

A big thanks to all of you that sent well wishes on my job interview. While awaiting a big fat rejection letter, I got a call back for a second interview!! I'm so excited!

Again, not much stitching going on. Over the weekend I did put a few stitches into the border of A Sweeter Love. The Nashville market was also this past weekend. Saturday, I am meeting up with the ladies at my lns to paw over all the new stitchy goodness.

I also caved and ordered a few things from 123stitch. The april cottage chart by ccn, barnwood buttons by rosewood manor, and winifred gardner.

What did you see at market that you MUST have?

What's Goin On?

Yea, I haven't been around much lately. I have lost my mojo after stitching two models for a designer. BTW, they are way cute.

I spent the holiday weekend cleaning up my house and reading lots of trashy romance novels. I am totally hooked on Monica McCarty and her highlander series!

Tuesday I had a job interview. Now, I have a good job, but its not very intellectually stimulating. And I'm not really planning on leaving it anytime soon, but when I saw this position pop up, I just decided to wing it and see what happens. I have to admit, its pretty much in my top three of dream jobs. Plus, the schedule is amazing. I just hope I'm not setting myself up too high for a fall by admitting to you that *I friggin really kinda want this dang job* and that's all I'm gonna say about that.

On another topic, I'm feeling very sad about the blogging world lately. If people aren't constantly complaining about the changing environment of blogger and facebook, they are making personal attacks on other bloggers/stitchers. Its very sad. Who cares if so and so didn't send you their RAK or you didn't win their giveaway?!

Get. A. Grip. Dude.

Winner!

No pics this week as I haven't done much stitching, BUT I was a winner!

I received an email earlier this week letting me know that I won a giveaway from Lizzie Kate! Yay!! Its the winter scissor fob kit that comes with tiny, cute scissors. Exciting stuff!

Also this week, I received some materials to stitch a model. No, I can't show you, but its good stuff!

Happy weekend!

A New Week

Another week begins after a great weekend!

Friday night DH worked so I had the house to myself for a bit. I didn't feel all that great so not much stitching was accomplished. Saturday, I didn't feel much better, but I got to enjoy the day with DH and we went to get our superbowl snacks for the big game day.

Yesterday, I met up with the ladies for lunch and then shopping at our lns' big game day sale. I was unable to get the threads I needed for my chatelaine piece, but did pick up the new Lizzie Kate kit. I started working on it last night during the game. I took the day off work today to enjoy a day at home and stitched a bit more this morning.

Twofer!

Well, I don't kbow about anyone else but I've seen a few blog posts from people about thread storage. I store all my dmc threads on plastic bobbins and use vonnas method of labelling. I then keep all my bobbins in a box. Well, I have like three or four of those bobbin boxes. Of course, one box I don't count because its all thread for ONE wip that's been in progress....oohhhh...around ten years. Its a Teresa Wentzler, nuff said. Anywho, I've seen posts about these double sided boxes, so last night after work I cruised on down to joann fabrics and found two! Alas, one was broken, so I just purchased the one. It was on sale 40% off so it went into the cart. So I'm down from two boxes of dmc to one half of this box. Yay space savers!

More exciting news when I got home! My order from stitching bits and bobs came! Yay!! I got a few silks for my chatelaine and the february and march cottages from CCN.

A great start to the weekend!!
