Back in November, my good friend, Danielle, and I went to a retreat in Laurel, Md. I was glad I was able to go this year as it seems to be the last one they will be having there. In two years, they will be moving the retreat to the spring during the needlework exhibit at Woodlawn in Va(pending any difficulties finding a venue). I am DEFINITELY all about getting to that retreat! Danielle and I attend the exhibit every year and then stop to shop at In Stitches, so adding a weekend retreat into the mix will only sweeten the deal. Plus, we have been BEGGING for a retreat during this exhibit for years. Yay!<br />
<br />
I worked a bit on my Chatelaine piece at the retreat, but mostly focused on a new start. Plus Street Samplers, Blackberry House. I adore the colors used in this piece and have enjoyed working on it. I do not have a picture to post today, but I am a good way through stitching and will have to post one later.<br />
<br />
I am also on the search for what I call my "white whale" of stitching. It's that piece that you want to stitch, but doubt you ever will be able to finish but are determined to try. I am sure it's the same for many stitchers. But mine is "And They Sinned" by Examplar Dames Design Co. I find myself a couple times a week googling away and searching Ebay to see if anyone is willing to part with their copy of the chart. I would have no problem purchasing the chart from an LNS, but at around $50(just for the pattern), I figure if I can find it somewhere else, I am game. With upcoming after christmas and superbowl sales also approaching, I am sure to get my hands on it somehow!<br />
<br />
My husband and I are getting very excited for Christmas this year. My little girl will be three next month and is always chattering about Christmas now and Santa Claus. We are planning to actually visit Ocean City in a couple weeks to see the Winterfest of Lights they have there. I have family that lives in the area, so we are going to stay with them for one night to save on a hotel stay. I am looking forward to seeing the beach in December(and of course visiting Salty Yarns).<br />
<br />
My birthday is at the end of the month and I usually like to treat myself to something stitchy. I have yet to decide what that will be, but I am leaning towards either a scroll rod set(to fit my chatelaine piece) or another Chatelaine kit. I have the chart for Butterfly Lace, which is just so pretty. The kit is available for sale at European Cross Stitch online and would just be easy peasy to purchase.<br />
<br />
Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season!<br />

My grandfather passed away on Wednesday after a prolonged illness. Yesterday, I was with family helping to make arrangements for his memorial and was able to say a final goodbye. Today, I was able to relax at home and stitch away while binge watching Once Upon A Time. <div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgK3FLrZ4Xa3yNmNSB4XnAOjhF8QEyWuE64nHEm6k-iOTGCJOM_8rtcvsGyZch6Aoi9zR23dln7xNxBSJAMrle-fqAAM2Sr9QewDwp20kJl2AJV4BDXMaCzWSkifHwY_6N1dtFgRUgvCaM/s640/blogger-image--987994847.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgK3FLrZ4Xa3yNmNSB4XnAOjhF8QEyWuE64nHEm6k-iOTGCJOM_8rtcvsGyZch6Aoi9zR23dln7xNxBSJAMrle-fqAAM2Sr9QewDwp20kJl2AJV4BDXMaCzWSkifHwY_6N1dtFgRUgvCaM/s640/blogger-image--987994847.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I was able to get more done as I stitched well into the night after my little one was in bed and my husband was home from work. I was super excited to continue work on my Chatelaine piece, Hawaii Mandala. I was just getting out of the blue and onto a leaf! Yay, new color! LOL. I was also approaching a specialty stitch, the jessica flower. All set to stitch and I realize I cannot find the thread! Now, I kitted up this project a few years ago, okay, maybe 4-5. I cannot recall exactly. I took months to get all the threads as they are somewhat expensive, so I could not buy them all at once.<br />
<br />
So there I sit, panicking because I cannot find this thread. Oh my, did I possibly miss purchasing this one? ANOTHER thread I do not have?! I KNOW I had it!! Where is it?! My cat was quite disgruntled at the fussing, disturbing her absorption into the continuing saga and romance of Olitz.<br />
<br />
I came to accept that maybe I just did not have it, maybe I just missed buying it when I purchased all the other threads. Maybe the LNS just did not have it in stock and I put off buying it for another day and forgot all about it. So, I moved on and starting stitching the rhodes stitches for the pineapples.<br />
<br />
I soon realized the lateness of the evening. 1 AM and I have to work the next day. So away went my wip, and all the threads gathered into their bag for safe keeping. Folded up my throw blanket and took the remainder of my code red mountain dew to the kitchen. I turned to check and make sure I did not miss putting anything away. Nothing can be missed for it will be snatched up by eagle eyed toddler.<br />
<br />
Lo and behold, there is my thread. Where it had been hiding under my behind the whole time.<br />
<br />
Well played, well played.VegasJillyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11198253536985267378noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6784076690045418424.post-2691720385811656872015-10-20T21:17:00.001-04:002015-10-20T21:17:05.716-04:00StandstillI've come to a standstill ont mermaid. So close to being finished and I ran out of kreinik thread!! I don't have a picture, but I can't tell you that I was minutes from a finish when I realized the spool was finished. I don't live close enough to my lns to just take a quick trip to replace it either, so it will have to wait. <div><br></div><div>I did some work on my growing like a tree sampler which is about 60% done! I got kind of tired of that as I was thinking about my chatelaine wasting away in its bag. </div><div><br></div><div>I took that out today and got ALOT done! I'm so excited to work on it again! I am going to a retreat next month and will definitely be taking it with me. </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgv6rKpxXcxCk63gp7S6Ffh9JvwqM_5bHpa-IaQyx8zHmlWUSGyMo_lwPew5NPOned52UJAgy5b4xhP1QcC2mP3vhtb1RRBS10ifR_1XyrEcBWVLHiyfBl1tHqqrowL-rZUqmSRMs_v1G8/s640/blogger-image--793992283.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgv6rKpxXcxCk63gp7S6Ffh9JvwqM_5bHpa-IaQyx8zHmlWUSGyMo_lwPew5NPOned52UJAgy5b4xhP1QcC2mP3vhtb1RRBS10ifR_1XyrEcBWVLHiyfBl1tHqqrowL-rZUqmSRMs_v1G8/s640/blogger-image--793992283.jpg"></a></div><br></div>VegasJillyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11198253536985267378noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6784076690045418424.post-70636895235902513482015-08-26T18:14:00.001-04:002015-08-26T18:14:29.954-04:00KindnessAt the beginning of summer I joined a secret exchange on Facebook and received this great package from Las Vegas! <div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggYVKKs_SqeDRkdRqqK835x8YRVYjV_Adfc8J5jbCYlfE7qfOWVKiLUNU5sSeZE1Wtm3cCjpevI2uQdZrYweiDTLqQljKpAxWB2P8Xj4ObtG7ar8hljMWlKK6PsRYwhwHeS37yycVFyQE/s640/blogger-image-558558259.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggYVKKs_SqeDRkdRqqK835x8YRVYjV_Adfc8J5jbCYlfE7qfOWVKiLUNU5sSeZE1Wtm3cCjpevI2uQdZrYweiDTLqQljKpAxWB2P8Xj4ObtG7ar8hljMWlKK6PsRYwhwHeS37yycVFyQE/s640/blogger-image-558558259.jpg"></a></div>It was so generous and fun! With the pop up points? I remember how they used to come in so many fun designs and fruit scented ones! I would always beg my mom to get me some of them! Lol. They had one package of frozen designs left and I figured a buck for four of them, it was a steal! I did give the Olaf one to a coworker as we had been reminiscing about them and that's how I got started even looking for them in the store. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpYcH2lK5xwjus1w9rMGOGBxMFVbL7Ma8Zhv9WqG6cxAvpsGA1ZOxZGRfBQLKSXC8iOWQVIS0CUZ62cOTuQyy6z9aafr1T9HhWS1d0wY3PkcVhh7gf2qC9_ZBBmkI02t7IvHGewQvdkyE/s640/blogger-image-1263737518.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpYcH2lK5xwjus1w9rMGOGBxMFVbL7Ma8Zhv9WqG6cxAvpsGA1ZOxZGRfBQLKSXC8iOWQVIS0CUZ62cOTuQyy6z9aafr1T9HhWS1d0wY3PkcVhh7gf2qC9_ZBBmkI02t7IvHGewQvdkyE/s640/blogger-image-1263737518.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Did you know you can buy in bulk from the dollar trees website?! I took the day off work and took my girl to daycare and figured I would enjoy the day with some stitching and binge watching something other than Disney,Jr and Paw Patrol. Haha.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I caught up with the real housewives and watched a couple movies while working on my mermaid. </div>

WOw, that's crazy that I slacked so bad. </span></div><div><br></div><div>Let's see, we are still enjoying living in our house. In a few weeks, we will have lived here a year! We are still working on making it our own, but there are pictures the wall and dirty floors all around. Lol. </div><div><br></div><div>Sadly, we had to return one of cats to the shelter not long after we adopted the two. She didn't seem to be adjusting well to our home and a toddler running around, and took to pooping in our bedroom. Sometimes, on our clothes and it's just not something we could cope with having a small one around the house. </div><div><br></div><div>I'm still chugging away on sleeping princess. I'm able to find more time here and there with Marleigh getting older and being more independent. </div><div><br></div><div>Speaking of my little chicken, she will be TWO next week. Looks like I dropped the ball again. Just over a month since my last post. My dd and I got very sick at the end of March and it's taken me quite a while to get through it. She had a bit of an ear infection and I ended up having strep throat for the first time in my life. I also had some heavy duty pain in my ears and was having difficulty hearing. The dr said I had quite a bit of blockage in my ears due to everything else that was going on. Thankfully, it's all cleared up now and I can stop telling my husband to "turn it up" when we are watching tv. Lol <div><br></div><div>I am still plugging away on sleeping princess. </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhw6QVGV5_X6g8vyqYpGuGg3aYl8tTjwoeSO0aveCLVaMcBAkOEsCDGUKBzQsOBS891UcRzObXThIsIceI0flJyepRE3156NLbG8XFqzJohQNRBTmhOSsv9xrp3eTZYOzJ39ENBc4z5J1U/s640/blogger-image-246022308.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhw6QVGV5_X6g8vyqYpGuGg3aYl8tTjwoeSO0aveCLVaMcBAkOEsCDGUKBzQsOBS891UcRzObXThIsIceI0flJyepRE3156NLbG8XFqzJohQNRBTmhOSsv9xrp3eTZYOzJ39ENBc4z5J1U/s640/blogger-image-246022308.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTb3P34h1Tiy3j9d5BBzccnHMLBOkP5ytvXCYrN4sOzSfWzhXthsb0BA9FIxWEL4AFjtzX7ltfYqf_k85R297AegJRGWEjwEYN6Pv9kR4yPoItmti10qKqMavG5ToTKtpvkycyHlbrKfk/s640/blogger-image-1910001383.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTb3P34h1Tiy3j9d5BBzccnHMLBOkP5ytvXCYrN4sOzSfWzhXthsb0BA9FIxWEL4AFjtzX7ltfYqf_k85R297AegJRGWEjwEYN6Pv9kR4yPoItmti10qKqMavG5ToTKtpvkycyHlbrKfk/s640/blogger-image-1910001383.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">And there is a cat in my shower....<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf281tl6vkv80upHt2txy0U01gtYk7lz7v5oYFa3Ah3lOyJLaTGg-Z9BOp8u94f1TUy-GAUvCfY3KfRVX6zfSZhyphenhyphen98yjT5dbrP1aifHs3dd0WZFb9Qh_CSc3_-RVV2YzMItgDznC-_1Dc/s640/blogger-image--599813494.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf281tl6vkv80upHt2txy0U01gtYk7lz7v5oYFa3Ah3lOyJLaTGg-Z9BOp8u94f1TUy-GAUvCfY3KfRVX6zfSZhyphenhyphen98yjT5dbrP1aifHs3dd0WZFb9Qh_CSc3_-RVV2YzMItgDznC-_1Dc/s640/blogger-image--599813494.jpg"></a></div></div><br></div><br></div>VegasJillyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11198253536985267378noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6784076690045418424.post-36919999170142659022014-03-19T09:37:00.001-04:002014-03-19T09:37:39.665-04:00Too CuteOn the weekends, we like to take our mornings to unwind, sit on the couch and watch cartoons. My daughter LOVES Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It's so great to see her get so excited and dance to the music while she watched the show. Another favorite on the weekends is Too Cute on Animal Planet. We love all the puppies and kittens! <div><br></div><div>The weekend of valentines day we adopted two cats from our local spca. They are taking quite awhile to adjust, but each day they come around more and more. When they first came home, they bolted from the room whenever we walked in. They still don't let us walk right up to them, but they are much more relaxed when we come into their space, and they are seeking out our company a lot more than they used to. </div><div><br></div><div>They are both very playful and will go nuts over a pipe cleaner! </div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglRzfYBQuiV6KfNnU_Ud4k8UtyugBfsRC83OsiAKsZ9cg6kiZNlEu56MSfR2h4JDQTLd_TLKpYL6UTIs0ScxIOwFEuAIaE3Dqj9i1J2qDCsBJORtC6B6ftdnvSFyc88mxtQvgCBI_5MIk/s640/blogger-image-314269710.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglRzfYBQuiV6KfNnU_Ud4k8UtyugBfsRC83OsiAKsZ9cg6kiZNlEu56MSfR2h4JDQTLd_TLKpYL6UTIs0ScxIOwFEuAIaE3Dqj9i1J2qDCsBJORtC6B6ftdnvSFyc88mxtQvgCBI_5MIk/s640/blogger-image-314269710.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLjn0rESA9vXCT186x-hFFoCo9QBExZvQLMIzVlqPVxdOWk-cJdYhITAd9xbODK0iD-Sfrc53T4fhGBE4Bc3BjhKQoqPBOZIv_Blo15fjJXzap6QhDRAqT-vim_vztRCLlYfHS_ua3Gyg/s640/blogger-image-1296380608.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLjn0rESA9vXCT186x-hFFoCo9QBExZvQLMIzVlqPVxdOWk-cJdYhITAd9xbODK0iD-Sfrc53T4fhGBE4Bc3BjhKQoqPBOZIv_Blo15fjJXzap6QhDRAqT-vim_vztRCLlYfHS_ua3Gyg/s640/blogger-image-1296380608.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIRkk4g8PHkUscGgbbyFBrhvH7H97PuGe_sk_29xHM8rs6GGg0TwUJa12KirETB5DW97gePTZnQ_AQekcuIxbMj3kRqIgIx60aXmwHyrs3T5ISYoWd2JLpY_ZEJTsiuQRe1N-oq8n78KM/s640/blogger-image-1662215131.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIRkk4g8PHkUscGgbbyFBrhvH7H97PuGe_sk_29xHM8rs6GGg0TwUJa12KirETB5DW97gePTZnQ_AQekcuIxbMj3kRqIgIx60aXmwHyrs3T5ISYoWd2JLpY_ZEJTsiuQRe1N-oq8n78KM/s640/blogger-image-1662215131.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">This is the younger of the two at just less than a year. I ordered from a shop on eBay and it was the only place I've seen it so I had to snatch it up! I've been stitching it over one and had a hiccup over the weekend. I stitched a lot of stitches in the wrong color and had to rip it out and restitch it. It was a faster fix than I thought it would be, but hopefully it won't be repeated! </div>VegasJillyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11198253536985267378noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6784076690045418424.post-4701137301571452782014-03-13T08:35:00.001-04:002014-03-13T08:35:15.923-04:00GrowthMy latest stitching has shown some growth! <div><br></div><div>My lunch buddy now has a hill to stand in. Even if he is missing his nose. </div><div><br></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmWxErKPCTQxx_kPBUCrLxcmukMsCwdjTvTng2R4x3xKDBQrvg1U91JbUIpomSM55A430DsDe3ufyg7Oelg5T_mXKNfOykvC5synEO4JHV1raz1uAnt-YNwbaE6WG-zrWRZTtkVk7WTwY/s640/blogger-image-353787315.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmWxErKPCTQxx_kPBUCrLxcmukMsCwdjTvTng2R4x3xKDBQrvg1U91JbUIpomSM55A430DsDe3ufyg7Oelg5T_mXKNfOykvC5synEO4JHV1raz1uAnt-YNwbaE6WG-zrWRZTtkVk7WTwY/s640/blogger-image-353787315.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">And sleeping princess is getting some body parts. I've seen on Facebook in the mirabilia group, some wonderful ladies have stitched the skin over one and wanted to give it a try. I don't like how bulky a full stitch looked with two threads over one so I just did a half stitch and I'm pleased with it. I do little chunks at a time so I don't get sick of doing it. Skin itself is pretty boring to stitch. Skin over one?! Forget about it! So I do a few stitches over one and then do some color. And wow! Those x's look huge after you've done some over one stitching, lol! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZXnDM4JvHUjI4mjbU6EwqswEGpQWK45cmgP50wt1pKASQoB3CU2M2Q8XYxU1s_q1eEA4yqwi7QGW6CRzX2vNPqLzZAMJhoX8IvFnNvpl3-1c-YFSWboXWktCYHslQzwyMCKRe9bX23X8/s640/blogger-image--943724676.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZXnDM4JvHUjI4mjbU6EwqswEGpQWK45cmgP50wt1pKASQoB3CU2M2Q8XYxU1s_q1eEA4yqwi7QGW6CRzX2vNPqLzZAMJhoX8IvFnNvpl3-1c-YFSWboXWktCYHslQzwyMCKRe9bX23X8/s640/blogger-image--943724676.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7XNbK5Tx-n6_XcHptAYtv4J9MhyTAcLTVvgcX9t0u2EwU3EusoKHI0Mwx2-cxaYcERi_S2dmWN_0MHSxba4IcuzBQIIuZp539-7YXE2UChajgEqdPNMKBy2nsor5SbJj2sB7Oaln8np8/s640/blogger-image-220664836.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7XNbK5Tx-n6_XcHptAYtv4J9MhyTAcLTVvgcX9t0u2EwU3EusoKHI0Mwx2-cxaYcERi_S2dmWN_0MHSxba4IcuzBQIIuZp539-7YXE2UChajgEqdPNMKBy2nsor5SbJj2sB7Oaln8np8/s640/blogger-image-220664836.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Over the weekend I purchased a 17x17 qsnaps frame at michaels. I love being able to stitch during my lunch break, even if it's just a tiny bit. At home, I steal a few minutes here and there during nap times on the weekend or when the little one is busy playing by herself and doesn't notice what I'm doing. Lol. <br><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWQQgkBfmFuwKCuNropyflCFNUNoqRQ3fA_8WXtc026OGeQI-U4Ay9Bx5HvnRS8sWDVUsDhPrz6lFScXAzSzlte687pmCfjDWn41cMEWm_4A0zIP14DOUcSNLZtiAS-gOvFmN3hnDswbM/s640/blogger-image-1797247241.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWQQgkBfmFuwKCuNropyflCFNUNoqRQ3fA_8WXtc026OGeQI-U4Ay9Bx5HvnRS8sWDVUsDhPrz6lFScXAzSzlte687pmCfjDWn41cMEWm_4A0zIP14DOUcSNLZtiAS-gOvFmN3hnDswbM/s640/blogger-image-1797247241.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfDdaLC3mBuPqRfjUPvZrhwiaXQUo-zLUerWapCYZyflKkkJtfpmQmdv30E1pHQXg__lyGKjv-GQReNJhq7mrhyphenhyphen4aycV0tjjcPlDKLKnUOzgBYYFM9jk3r0ZXmBUyZdAuAaxyD6D6vpH8/s640/blogger-image-1670469874.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfDdaLC3mBuPqRfjUPvZrhwiaXQUo-zLUerWapCYZyflKkkJtfpmQmdv30E1pHQXg__lyGKjv-GQReNJhq7mrhyphenhyphen4aycV0tjjcPlDKLKnUOzgBYYFM9jk3r0ZXmBUyZdAuAaxyD6D6vpH8/s640/blogger-image-1670469874.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I've been thinking quite a bit about how much I would like to pick up working in my chatelaine piece again. I got a good start on it before baby came and it would be so nice to work on it again. I was mostly inhibited because I wanted to be able to stitch and also add the beads as a I go, but using q snaps can be a bit tricky and it's a large piece. I've decided to get one of the larger q snaps grams (17x17) and use it to stitch my chatelaine. It will give me a large area for stitching and beading. Plus, it will also be helpful for stitching the larger mirabilia pieces I also love. I'm excited!! </div>VegasJillyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11198253536985267378noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6784076690045418424.post-76901045733087351822014-02-27T11:00:00.001-05:002014-02-27T11:00:29.563-05:00Princess ProgressI was able to make more progress on the princess last night! I got to enjoy a nice, relaxing day at home. I was able to spend a good chunk of time stitching on Sleeping Princess. I also finished watching the first season of Game of Thrones. I really like it!! <div><br></div><div>Since we've moved into our new house, dh and I have been talking about getting our first family pet. This past weekend, petsmart had a big adoption event. The one near us had cats from the local SPCA. Dh picked out a cat that he really like but I told him we couldn't get her. He had said we could only get one cat, this kitty was part of a bonded pair. I couldn't bear to separate them. My softie dh said, "okay, let's just get both". Just like that, and now we have two little fur babies at home with us! They've only been home for a couple days, so we haven't seen much of them yet. They mostly explore the house at night after we go to bed for the night. </div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGzOGuSSiOFfIvaYL1N4ilF8-1xGwaD4AfVTVapkmFkt2kUv4fChgJ9HV-a0wlmGW0bCU__x3M2NrbmO7p2HPBmHIxW2t7JGYnJTtzg6myyIK3ZS15TczI0Mb_G2fU2y9uALEvX6Evh7M/s640/blogger-image--421502271.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGzOGuSSiOFfIvaYL1N4ilF8-1xGwaD4AfVTVapkmFkt2kUv4fChgJ9HV-a0wlmGW0bCU__x3M2NrbmO7p2HPBmHIxW2t7JGYnJTtzg6myyIK3ZS15TczI0Mb_G2fU2y9uALEvX6Evh7M/s640/blogger-image--421502271.jpg"></a></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikpCl9mlKVxSJhh1d-USFpaoEKTchySZuFAYjdeghiWghUOT8dfNut2BqIMI7zUF_beVBAughRsdsJYO_jPe6jRivOZzShPhamwJAdeduHry519SZIN0e_5ghAXR3NPsR4N3my5K5K1L8/s640/blogger-image--1967044623.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikpCl9mlKVxSJhh1d-USFpaoEKTchySZuFAYjdeghiWghUOT8dfNut2BqIMI7zUF_beVBAughRsdsJYO_jPe6jRivOZzShPhamwJAdeduHry519SZIN0e_5ghAXR3NPsR4N3my5K5K1L8/s640/blogger-image--1967044623.jpg"></a></div>VegasJillyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11198253536985267378noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6784076690045418424.post-83831126355197504042014-02-11T15:01:00.003-05:002014-02-11T15:01:40.427-05:00Hidden Treasure!!<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Not a lot of people know this, but since November we have been in the process of buying our first home. It's pretty much been a nightmare dealing with the mortgage company and dealing with all the paperwork. Luckily, the house is perfect for us. It's a flip, so it's been completely renovated from the bottom up and has GORGEOUS new kitchen appliances. Plus, air conditioning. I just don't know how I will handle it in July when I am not dying from the heat. Never in my life have I lived in a house with ac. I'm feeling quite fancy about it. </span></div><div><br></div><div>So, we have started packing up our tiny rental and while cleaning off the television stand, I found a treasure! Swooshed allll the way in the back of the bottom shelf was a bag from the lns in ocean city, Salty Yarns (love that place)! In the back was a lot from The Sweetheart Tree. I know I had to have purchased it back around summer of 2007. It was a day trip dh and I had taken to the beach with friends when we were dating. Well, they wanted to go to the beach, I wanted to go to salty yarns! Lol. </div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I had started this piece and then put it in the bag. I swear I have spent the last six years looking for it! Every time we've rearranged the house and when we had to toss things to make room for the baby, I was keeping an eye out for this bag!! When I found it, I had made a pretty good start. The only thing that wasn't done were finishing stitching the leaves and the back stitching for the vines. The last two days at work during my lunch break I've worked on it. Today, I finished up the back stitching and am now ready to do the hardinger heart in the middle. Since I've never done hardinger, that's probably why I didn't finish it six years ago. Lol. </span></div><div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVCpwXUraArYQ1DLgcLYKOcGaqmbnmDL_78jJHpDWditqxrpu09a7xP-lMIwWdWmlnMXEx6to0NYO5k60A4Ct5g5sVvJjTL3b6k17YqZcrjCpsBBcrhQ07hSm4qQrZExtpFwOdVONEcQw/s640/blogger-image--2027068640.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVCpwXUraArYQ1DLgcLYKOcGaqmbnmDL_78jJHpDWditqxrpu09a7xP-lMIwWdWmlnMXEx6to0NYO5k60A4Ct5g5sVvJjTL3b6k17YqZcrjCpsBBcrhQ07hSm4qQrZExtpFwOdVONEcQw/s640/blogger-image--2027068640.jpg"></a></div></div>VegasJillyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11198253536985267378noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6784076690045418424.post-48784672276886626182014-02-11T15:01:00.001-05:002014-02-11T15:01:18.683-05:00Winter Blah!So winter has hit us hard in the midatlantic. I almost said maryland, but then remember I now live in PENNSYLVANIA!! My husband and purchased our first home and we moved in the last weekend of January. Even though it's only a few minutes from our old rental, it's still a bit of an adjustment to a new state. <div><br></div><div>Needless to say, the last few months have been very stressful waiting for everything to go through and getting to settlement. Also, moving with a toddler in tow. What was I thinking?! But, our new house is beautiful and so much room!! We have really loved being out from under the shadow of a landlord. And new appliances. Like a dishwasher. And a washer and dryer. And in the summer, air conditioning. Sweet, blissful air conditioning. </div><div><br></div><div>So, I haven't had much time to stitch from all the moving and such. But, this past weekend I was able to work on sleeping princess for a bit and also started bringing a project with me to work. I stitch during my lunch break and I feel like it's really helped me to be a little less stressed. I wish I could just sit all day and work on it, but if 30 minutes is all I can fit into a day, I'll take it!! </div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijCZnrBtJ0SbYFTvUOSXSLUZE3FQ1l2aDj3bad5nuHhyphenhyphen0AvqVhVWPlgXjbHosQhf_0vIHnw3nmvred5N01a3GG3hbZONgp_y4jRFXLCLP31qdnjH4qBNIsQZ0MsCV9b3Lw36Y4yre3cBY/s640/blogger-image--1886089563.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijCZnrBtJ0SbYFTvUOSXSLUZE3FQ1l2aDj3bad5nuHhyphenhyphen0AvqVhVWPlgXjbHosQhf_0vIHnw3nmvred5N01a3GG3hbZONgp_y4jRFXLCLP31qdnjH4qBNIsQZ0MsCV9b3Lw36Y4yre3cBY/s640/blogger-image--1886089563.jpg"></a></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpChrJ8QITrq94jxkTjKpAXvd8ynpF9V00D94u3vp3bnbfvR_fGd0RQPSPU9BLFlwIVHeBCj1XikFAH1PTtIFdGPKbJa6eSYVFjf-RohjV67rxUh9qlSTRqcuBF-Fczz1baADlPR_mhrw/s640/blogger-image--2122086837.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpChrJ8QITrq94jxkTjKpAXvd8ynpF9V00D94u3vp3bnbfvR_fGd0RQPSPU9BLFlwIVHeBCj1XikFAH1PTtIFdGPKbJa6eSYVFjf-RohjV67rxUh9qlSTRqcuBF-Fczz1baADlPR_mhrw/s640/blogger-image--2122086837.jpg"></a></div>VegasJillyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11198253536985267378noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6784076690045418424.post-79524753622593926912014-01-06T22:30:00.001-05:002014-01-06T22:30:53.391-05:00A Long Time...Since my last post. A lot is going here in our little house. My little girl is growing so fast. She started walking just before thanksgiving at only ten months old! She's so fast! Lol. <div><br></div><div>She really enjoyed her first holiday season and was showered with love over Christmas. </div><div><br></div><div>I haven't had much time to stitch. I've made slow progress of the brd mystery sampler and also started Mirabilis sleeping princess. </div><div><br></div><div>A new yarn shop opened near my office downtown so I stopped in a few days before Christmas and saw a really pretty cowl on display. I treated myself to some yarn and am only ten rows from finishing it! I'm not the most accomplished knitter, so it's pretty exciting! </div><div><br></div><div>Hopefully, I will get the chance to post more often and show some pictures. </div>VegasJillyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11198253536985267378noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6784076690045418424.post-35151352615772130802013-10-18T18:36:00.001-04:002013-10-18T18:36:07.590-04:00LoservilleWhoa folks! It's been awhile! I didn't realize how long it had been since I posted. Things are going very well here in my world. My baby girl is growing so fast and my dh and I are loving it! She just turned 9 months and is on the move and pulling herself up to stand. No words yet, but she loves a good babble!! <div><br></div><div>I had some time home alone that I was able to just sit and stitch! I finished he first part of the BRD mystery sampler and got a good chunk into the second part. </div><div><br></div><div>Fall is here and I'm looking forward to cooler weather and SNOW!! I said a bad word! But, I love winter. I love snuggling at home with my stitching. And this year we'll be snuggling our sweet lil baby! Wednesday night we did some shopping and had dinner at chilis followed by yummy shakes at sonic. Half price after 8! I was worried about being out so late, but Marleigh did really well and saved her fussing for the car while we were in the drive thru at sonics, which took FOREVER. </div><div><br></div><div>For July 4th, we went to my mother in laws community pool. Marleigh enjoyed her very first dip and took a nap in the great outdoors. After swimming, we enjoyed cooking out and spending time with family. </div><div><br></div><div>One day of work and its time for the weekend! </div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhyphenhyphenvr24T-1eUVdr5kmhm-YFgkHui-zLKWbmhJYptUku8cm0-2AitB2O6y4llQkQdkpSeYZc64_rxPs9aIj0kAGJRK9JmmJHewUA8QQdzxGfbxKvcVxqhLpFI98Lxxq-PQBb8Oif04MI6c/s640/blogger-image--1510967655.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhyphenhyphenvr24T-1eUVdr5kmhm-YFgkHui-zLKWbmhJYptUku8cm0-2AitB2O6y4llQkQdkpSeYZc64_rxPs9aIj0kAGJRK9JmmJHewUA8QQdzxGfbxKvcVxqhLpFI98Lxxq-PQBb8Oif04MI6c/s640/blogger-image--1510967655.jpg"></a></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipZqqJBiqKJJ6sVr6u-SVOJdT1GPsLaA98cuGqeraDb3i8K1H-RijWGZWmAry-xLV7OKOEiVXP_Tvk7kABHX-HcN6W3Y8T3I_jkDpcO6fvv5y6eAemL3nLHMeQfni6V_cpQA50HZXAOWg/s640/blogger-image--1321593827.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipZqqJBiqKJJ6sVr6u-SVOJdT1GPsLaA98cuGqeraDb3i8K1H-RijWGZWmAry-xLV7OKOEiVXP_Tvk7kABHX-HcN6W3Y8T3I_jkDpcO6fvv5y6eAemL3nLHMeQfni6V_cpQA50HZXAOWg/s640/blogger-image--1321593827.jpg"></a></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgt-AnS7MQDOgHjkiIqB5pFHbbrzXoyMJRR_Tr-bf-UWCCNlDYVgvKH0NnOXnh8tFJ8ActFUgUu19CD-yJEaD2MAW00yF-Ot8qyrxKurXjJNpQ1Id28if5hwg-ALhTlPIWx60XeSHJDafM/s640/blogger-image--1415423904.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgt-AnS7MQDOgHjkiIqB5pFHbbrzXoyMJRR_Tr-bf-UWCCNlDYVgvKH0NnOXnh8tFJ8ActFUgUu19CD-yJEaD2MAW00yF-Ot8qyrxKurXjJNpQ1Id28if5hwg-ALhTlPIWx60XeSHJDafM/s640/blogger-image--1415423904.jpg"></a></div>VegasJillyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11198253536985267378noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6784076690045418424.post-38676258893120812842013-07-02T19:43:00.001-04:002013-07-02T19:43:36.742-04:00NopeI won't be moving my blog. Ill be right here! <div><br></div><div>I think some people had confusion over the whole google reader going away thing. It seems that people are moving their blogs needlessly. </div><div><br></div><div>I use blogger to post my blogs and feedler to read them on my phone. Plus, there's the blogger dashboard. </div><div><br></div><div>Hope you all are well and continue to be able to enjoy your favorite blogs! </div>VegasJillyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11198253536985267378noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6784076690045418424.post-23895575848836797712013-06-27T09:59:00.001-04:002013-06-27T09:59:54.440-04:00A Whole Month!Wow, I didn't realize it had been so long since my last post! <div><br></div><div>There isn't a whole lot going on in my part of the world. My baby girl is almost six months and giving me joy everyday! She's sitting up almost all by herself and rolling over. She is such a happy little girl and we love seeing her smile. </div><div><br></div><div>I've also been able to pick up my stitching a bit more since we have been able to establish a good bedtime routine. Also, my good friend, Danielle, and I were able to attend a lock in at In Stitches last Sunday. It was so fun! Ellen and the ladies always put on a good spread and show us a good time! </div><div><br></div><div>I'm still working on BRD's mystery sampler. I'm almost done part one. I've started working on the motif above the squirrels but this is the most up to date picture I have. </div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEil7iNhsbynQbgQWm9ApM-wRzePfftTlWvYwWZpTH2m-Uv5rXf56RgPSWFoiHws88xS93kiVT3BB2jMdU6Sx5fjuM0FcsACe1nQ833hVCoA_v6h9__RbvrSSjJ5-r5CjG4fAYZH5iAMA78/s640/blogger-image--1712788629.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEil7iNhsbynQbgQWm9ApM-wRzePfftTlWvYwWZpTH2m-Uv5rXf56RgPSWFoiHws88xS93kiVT3BB2jMdU6Sx5fjuM0FcsACe1nQ833hVCoA_v6h9__RbvrSSjJ5-r5CjG4fAYZH5iAMA78/s640/blogger-image--1712788629.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Here are a few pics of dd! </div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3n-gUEHtdEk6dc7ZYJi0wA2yKz7F0U_d5oTQXmfSU7zwQtBUi6myHPp-zMYPjAdn8CH7YFTSR0oLdVlTgV7T3bphspuHzYiRe6gvjTtZSs-JnS7Xa2sfPSIdMfwDuizXKheEHccne95U/s640/blogger-image-2064162103.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3n-gUEHtdEk6dc7ZYJi0wA2yKz7F0U_d5oTQXmfSU7zwQtBUi6myHPp-zMYPjAdn8CH7YFTSR0oLdVlTgV7T3bphspuHzYiRe6gvjTtZSs-JnS7Xa2sfPSIdMfwDuizXKheEHccne95U/s640/blogger-image-2064162103.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguxfg7fQGu6If5eGcgcoP3q6hAz4xFL447amBxQjIOZclkVLsVyXqiuutEsZmHQpl96Cp7ZwP4miKLQQv6NBgst8McYKjfwQix-VaWs9mSSjUC8G7etzzwzW4pEqt3Q5m7oNUn_cqvLdU/s640/blogger-image-1353373045.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguxfg7fQGu6If5eGcgcoP3q6hAz4xFL447amBxQjIOZclkVLsVyXqiuutEsZmHQpl96Cp7ZwP4miKLQQv6NBgst8McYKjfwQix-VaWs9mSSjUC8G7etzzwzW4pEqt3Q5m7oNUn_cqvLdU/s640/blogger-image-1353373045.jpg"></a></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyHQZ8M-nVmAN1EuXAGxGIknNKupBBe7-8ecJzn2xkN5JdEoLCEDIVJstmyjoLLRj9CnDiCUOpaM_ehXfHGJkssmVnUIbmafRTPoXnj3f1lBRxWBq1VcbjRhdck_nzHQhnNCE5tvzPDNk/s640/blogger-image--482418171.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyHQZ8M-nVmAN1EuXAGxGIknNKupBBe7-8ecJzn2xkN5JdEoLCEDIVJstmyjoLLRj9CnDiCUOpaM_ehXfHGJkssmVnUIbmafRTPoXnj3f1lBRxWBq1VcbjRhdck_nzHQhnNCE5tvzPDNk/s640/blogger-image--482418171.jpg"></a></div>VegasJillyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11198253536985267378noreply@blogger.com2
